Landfill leachate is a complex mixture of organic and inorganic substances that can pose significant environmental hazards if not properly managed. As waste decomposes in landfills, it generates a liquid that can contaminate soil and groundwater, making effective treatment essential. In this article, we will explore the process of treating landfill leachate, the importance of wastewater treatment equipment, and the methods employed to ensure safe disposal.

Importance of Wastewater Treatment Equipment

Effective treatment of landfill leachate is crucial for protecting the environment and public health. Wastewater treatment equipment plays a vital role in this process. These systems are designed to remove or reduce harmful contaminants to acceptable levels, ensuring that treated leachate can be safely discharged or reused. 

For this project, we use the STRO(Space Tube Reverse Osmosis) solutions

STRO (Space Tube Reverse Osmosis) is a pipe network reverse osmosis sewage treatment equipment that combines the advantages of spiral membrane and disc membrane, has an open flow channel design, and has better pollution resistance than traditional spiral reverse osmosis membrane.

Working principle-The working principle of STRO is similar to that of spiral reverse osmosis membrane. It is driven by pressure to make water molecules pass through the membrane, while pollutants such as salt and organic matter are intercepted. Its membrane assembly adopts a spiral structure, and the internal grid channel is a trapezoidal structure. The resistance of wastewater is small when it flows in the grid. At the same time, the transverse reinforcement ribs can increase turbulence and reduce concentration polarization, thereby improving pollution resistance.

Equipment composition-STRO equipment usually consists of a feed pump, a booster pump, a membrane element, a piping system, a control system and a cleaning system.

Advantages-Strong anti-pollution ability: the open flow channel design can effectively avoid physical blockage and reduce scaling and pollution on the membrane surface.

High desalination rate: the desalination rate can reach 99% under standard test conditions.

Small footprint: the membrane assembly has a high filling density, which reduces the equipment footprint.

Easy maintenance: The membrane components are removable and easy to clean and maintain.
